RICHARD BOTTO

EDITOR IN CHIEF AND CEO OF RAZOR MAGAZINE

Always fascinated by language and writing, RAZOR Editor in Chief / CEO Richard Botto studied English at New York's Long Island University to deepen his knowledge and appreciation of the discipline. Initially, Botto entered top of his class into LIU's School of Pharmacy. On the strong suggestion of a college professor who quickly recognized Botto's skill for writing, he transferred his studies to English.

Upon graduating, Botto attended the Connecticut School of Broadcasting where he was an on-air personality for many radio stations within the NY Tri-State area. An entrepreneur by instinct with an intuitive sense for business, Botto began a career in the then-burgeoning fields of Internet marketing, development and e-commerce.

A pioneer in the early stages of the Internet boom, Botto was an integral part of the team responsible for creating the vendor tracking system used by many of today's top e-commerce companies. As an industry leader, Botto headed the development, design and commercial implementation for several of the top 50 most visited sites on the web.

Comfortable with his success, but seeking another challenge, Botto's next venture returned him to his early interests in language and publishing. Seeing a void in the men's publishing market, Botto created RAZOR Magazine to appeal to the young, educated and aggressive professional, offering its readers cutting-edge fashion, state-of-the-art technology and thoughtful, provocative and opinionated content. Motivated by the ideal that men are not mental midgets, and insulted by the way most magazines portray men and women, Botto sought to create what the men's lifestyle category was so clearly craving. RAZOR was launched in November of 2000.

A man of many talents and interests, Botto has no trouble living the kind of lifestyle that RAZOR symbolizes. Perhaps this is what makes RAZOR so unique. Botto, called RB by friends and colleagues, not only promotes an ambitious, worldly lifestyle to RAZOR's readers, he lives one himself.

After fulfilling this interest, Botto pursued a career in the then-burgeoning fields of Internet marketing, development and e-commerce.

Every Friday night Botto goes live on the FOX Sports Radio airwaves to talk sports as co-host of RAZOR Magazine's SportsEDGE. It is here that he can utilize his undeniable knowledge and love of the subject. His interest and qualifications in radio broadcasting originated from the experience of hosting several radio programs in the Tri-State area.

As a kid, the all-American sport of horseracing fascinated Botto. Today, with ownership in 14 thoroughbred racehorses, he has a lot invested in the 'Sport of Kings.' In his spare time, Botto takes to the road - from Kentucky to Saratoga - to watch his horses compete.

An avid film lover, Botto's passion and understanding of the art of film and filmmaking almost surpasses his ardor for America's favorite pastime or breaking down, play by play, the apparent strategy of Monday Night's Jets game. Almost. He is competent in the arena of critical film discussion and philosophizing on everything from classic to contemporary films.

From connoisseur to collector, Botto has turned his interests into definitive parts of his lifestyle. Recently, he had an impressive, specially designed 500-bottle collection wine cellar built into his Sonoran Desert home. His 1958 Chevy Corvette serves as another symbol of the classic lifestyle he embraces - the kind of quality that Botto brings to life within the pages of RAZOR Magazine.
